Can I deduct mileage?
Of Course, if you use your car in your business, you can deduct car expenses and you may deduct its entire cost of operations!!
Although, keep in mind that if you use your car for both business and personal purposes, you must divide your expenses based on actual mileage used for business purposes!
Also, mileage deducted for business purposes includes:
Travel to from your office to your worksite, where you have a second place of business.
Driving for business related errands, which can include trips to the bank, office supply store or post office.
Trips you make to meet with clients, vendors, also qualify for this deduction. This can include the mileage to and from dinners, coffee and drinks etc.
Business trips, if traveling to and from the airport and it relates to business travel.
If you are looking for work within the same industry and you a required to travel to the client interview you may take this deduction.
All those odd trips for business, such as job locations, other side gigs related to your business.
If you drive from your office to another work site to meet with clients this qualifies too.
Driving from your office/home to a temporary work site. A temporary work site is one that you would expect to last for less than a year.
