    FAQ

WHO NEEDS TO USE A LOGO DESIGN INVOICE?

Some logo design work requires that you send an invoice, while some does not. In general, if you are doing logo design work on a contract or freelance basis (ie, you are not on salary or a monthly retainer), you will need to submit a logo design invoice in order to be paid. However, it’s always important to confirm with the individual or company who is engaging your logo design services.

WHEN SHOULD I SUBMIT MY LOGO DESIGN INVOICE?

Different companies have different policies on when to should submit your invoice. Some prefer all invoices to be sent at the end of the month, while others will process invoices as soon as you complete your logo design work. Check with the company or client to confirm when they prefer to get their invoice.

WHAT DO I NEED TO INCLUDE IN MY LOGO DESIGN INVOICE?

In order to get paid promptly, you must include certain pieces of information in your logo design invoice. First, you’ll need to include the name, address, and phone number of the company or person you are invoicing, as well as for yourself (or your small business).

At the top, also include the date, the date by which you expect to be paid, and the method of payment you prefer. Then, you’ll need to include a description of the work you performed. This doesn’t need to be very detailed, but should give an idea of what you did (for instance: “company logo design,” “logo design revisions,” “logo design round 1,” etc). You’ll then need to put the cost of each piece of work on the invoice. This can be one flat fee, or an hourly rate, depending on the agreement you have with the company. If it is hourly, include the number of hours and multiply to get your total. At the bottom, total everything up, apply sales tax if necessary, and then include the grand total.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I SUBMIT MY LOGO DESIGN INVOICE?

After you submit your invoice, you should receive your payment by the date you specified on your invoice. If you do not receive your payment by this time, check in with the company to confirm that your logo design invoice was received. Keep in mind the method of payment you specified, so that you make sure you are looking in the right place for the payment.
