The Future of Work is Anywhere: New Remote Work Report2 min read

Anywhere Workers Report

There’s a shift happening in the global workforce. As people demand more from their careers, they also recognize that work should fit into their lifestyle – not the other way around. They shouldn’t have to be in the same room as their boss to get things done… or in the same city for that matter.

Workers are demanding flexibility, convenience and even the ability to work from anywhere.

Luckily, at the same time, an increasing number of employers are seeing the value of drawing from a global workforce, where the most skilled applicant is the one to get the job done, regardless of their location.

So who exactly is this workforce? What motivates them, what challenges them, how much do they earn and how long do they intend on living this lifestyle?

That’s what we sought to find out when we surveyed almost 4,000 workers for our recent remote working report, created in conjunction with Remote Year.

Find the full report here.

In the report you’ll find stats like:

  • There’s a remote work pay gap: Men are more likely to earn six figures than women (13% vs. 8%).
  • ⅓ of remote workers say their top productivity blocker is having trouble shutting down at the end of a work day.
  • 11% of workers who have gone remote in the past year have chosen to do so in order to combine work and travel.
  • 30% of respondents said a lack of community challenges their remote happiness most.
  • 80% of respondents want to work remotely as long as possible.

And much more about remote working in various professions, from respondents all around the world.

This infographic provides a further look into some of the data.
